Talamo - Grade 1

2020 was a very difficult year, Talamo started Grade R in January 2020 and in March 2020 the country was on lockdown due to Covid-19. Schools closed and Talamo returned in September 2020 part time to prepare for graduations so that he can start grade 1 in 2021.

When he returned to creche in September 2020, I received several letters from creche that Talamo was unable to write his name, surname and numbers from 1 to 10. I then started teaching him and it was difficult, our lessons didn’t end well because I use to shout at him each time he failed the spelling. He couldn’t speak English well....

Karabo - Grade 2

Karabo is a shy little girl in nature but since attending the LRBL program, she’s become more confident. We no longer spend a lot of time on school projects such as prepared reading and prepared speeches because she’s now more aware of her words and pronunciation and therefore able to read independently.

She now performs better at school in all her subjects especially mathematics because her dissection abilities have significantly improved.

Emily - Grade 2

LRBL is absolutely wonderful with Emily and she looks forward to her lessons so much. LRBL has also sparked a joy for reading in her and we are so grateful. Emily has achieved an academic award for the most improved reader and I am so thankful to LRBL for the remarkable progress she has made.

She absolutely loves her online classes and we can see her flourishing, we would not be where we are with her reading without the help of LRBL. Forever grateful!

Ethan - Grade 0

Ethan is now 5 and thoroughly enjoys his reading classes. He looks forward to his lessons at LRBL.

When Ethan started, he did not know any of his alphabets nor did he know how to read, and to see his progress now after being at LRBL for only 5 months, I am amazed! He is able to recognize the different alphabets, big and small letters, as well as read full sentences. The time and effort put in by LRBL is awesome because it shows the passion they have to help kids from a younger age...

Hlomani - Grade 1

When I enrolled Hlomani with Little Readers Big Leaders, I was going through a tough time, at the time Hlomani had failed first and second term whilst on the other hand, he was attending extra lessons with further referral for an assessment with another learning center.

Receiving reports that my son was not mature enough for Grade 1, he was operating at Pre School level, his thinking ability was that of a 5year, 8 months old, killed me inside. Little did I know that LRBL would have a positive impact on my son’s academics. I remember exchanging letters with his Grade 1 teacher whilst he was a few weeks at LRBL, I saw tremendous changes in his school work not to mention the improvement on his reading ability and how he always looked forward to his online class.
